Here is another instalment of our transparency series, where I’ve been sharing the “behind the scenes” of the Yoga in Boulder project. Today’s post is on our Vision, Purpose, Methods and Goals.
These posts serve a multi-level purpose. First, they serve as a medium to journal thoughts out of my head, to remember and to let go. They also inform the public about where we are coming from and where we are going. They offer a frame of referenve to understand The Journey, Challenges and Victories we’ve had.
This is one of the first articles of this nature, along with Yoga in Boulder: Values, Morals & Integrity. If you have any insight on how to make this better to expand into more harmony, please be sure to leave your comments below. We want to hear from you.
The Vision
Yoga in Boulder is an online magazine and community hub. We are looking to create a platform for the community to stay connected and engage more in person. We want to facilitate the integration of new members to our community, expanding the yoga community and creating more connection in Boulder. Our vision includes relationships with every yoga studio in Boulder, and all the teachers in town. We aim to be the #1 resource for all-things-yoga in Boulder and continue finding ways to serve our community.
We hope to have a small to medium size team, with regular members and a handful of rotating interns. I like to think of ourselves as a group of explorers, interested in the well-being of our tribe. We dive into the world and find the gems we want to share with you.
The Purpose
What is the purpose? Lila, is the wisest answer I have. Surrendering to the universe’s play. Connection feels good, its fun, productive and healing.
My observation is that evolution, expansion and connection are interrelated. I am thinking about the brain, the internet and similar structures. I am thinking about social media, faster communication and more people living closer to each other. The better we can communicate and connect, the better we can expand and evolve.
On one hand we can let things be as they are, trusting the universe has it all under control. Or we can jump into the flow and play with our inspiration.
The Method
Yoga in Boulder is all about sharing connection. It starts with feeling our connection, to ourselves, each other and the universe in all beings. As we expand our circles we grow our capacity to empathize and relate to others. We can build new bridges, create new structures and patterns, deveop new ideas and create more value.
At the base, all we really do is show up and share about our experience. We want to be welcoming for new commers, explorers, seekers and anyone who needs to plug in. We want to be kind with our words, stay positive and engaged with the play of life.
The Goals
The first goal is to create value, we want to know what people need and adjust to offer solutions, and create improvements. We need a team to uplift this project and carry it forward. Building partnerships and receiving offers from sponsors would be a huge millestone to catapult this project to new levels.
More than anything, we want to feel the love from the community, knowing that if the tribe is happy, we are doing a good job.
